For the most part, I don’t remember any of my dreams. A few times in my life, though, I felt like a dream was a message of some kind. One time, a dream left me paralyzed in fear but encouraged. I don’t know how to explain it.

Today:
I tend to hit the snooze button too many times. The second to last snooze smashing this morning sent me into a short, odd, dream. I was in the pasture outside my childhood home. I was hanging out with some friends I’ve made in the last few years. I some point I’m walking past the trees in the front yard and notice that everywhere I walk, the grass turns from dead and brown to green. As if there was life giving light shining out from me. There were “shadows” of still dead grass behind the trees. I see a particularly dead patch of grass and go step in it to see what happens. The grass grows, the dead grass crumples and falls, bugs begin to come and eat the dead grass, birds begin to come and eat the bugs. I go to climb a fence and look out over the pasture and see everything dead is falling over and something alive is growing to take it’s place. As I stare, I am amazed at it.

The ring of death.

What’s a guy supposed to do? No Call of Duty. No GTA. No customizing my avatar. No pointless scrolling through menus trying to decide what to download or watch. Just a dark tv screen and quiet living room. My walls are so empty… I guess there’s always that novel I want to write and the coffee table that still doesn’t have legs.

At some point, I figure, I’ll grow out of video games and become more interested in “real life” things like golf or gardening. Then I realize I’m almost thirty and I’ve got more hours logged into world war two than anything else. If only I could get paid to play CoD.

www.tymeandspace.com It’s not what you think. It’s the future of my portfolio. I’ve been on an extra bold italic kick. Take any font and make it extra bold and italic (if you can), usually pretty cool. My favorite is Caslon (tyme and space logo). Not the Adobe Caslon, but ITC Caslon. The Adobe one might have font that looks similiar, but I don’t have it.

Tyme and Space come out of a moment of brainstorming when I should have been working. I registered the domain immediately and made a logo. I hope to market to the scientific / stuck in the past crowd. I heard about a guy on Radio Lab who lives in the 1940’s or something. He doesn’t drive a car. Doesn’t own any electronics. Uses only cash. Only has stuff in his house (including his wardrobe) from the 40’s. They interviewed him. He was really eccentric and annoying, albeit, interesting. Maybe that’s what I need. Just get rid of everything and live like like 1942… naw.

Oh yeah, I borrowed the image from http://www.flickr.com/photos/milkman/(my camera is at work)

Sam has been better about this whole seven days of stuff than I have. I was ready to turn into vegetation and she was ready to walk the dog. I’m thankful for her. I think I’m a day behind on everything. So do I try to catch up or forgive myself and let it go.

Either way, I’m glad I have Sam around to keep me on point.

The other day I came home to a cloud. Happens often than not these days. Sam says he can’t stand clean floors. He has to tear something up and leave pieces of it everywhere. Usually it’s poly fill or the inside of a blanket or mattress. I hope he grows out of it. Maybe it’s good thing I’m broke right now. I can’t afford to replace a chewed up mattress, so I just make do with it. I mean you can still fall asleep on it.

One thing I wonder about the absence of in the Bible is; coffee. Didn’t they drink coffee back then? They sure drank some wine, but what about coffee? Surely, in north Africa and the Middle East they drank coffee. I want to hear about Jesus getting up early in the morning and turning water into french pressed coffee.

So I decided to operate as cut out creative. So I registered the domain, and moved wordpress to the new domain only to realize I didn’t know what I was doing. I unintentionally deleted everything… It usually takes me a couple tries to get something right.

So, here’s to new beginnings and new blogs and import night at Iron Horse. i think i need to make some new business cards…

By the by, here’s what I made and entered late for a fake video game cover.
